Thank you for your understanding.
It's the beginning of October, with cloudy skies, a subtle mugginess,
and a slight chill in the air, making it feel somewhat unsettled.
Now, to the awaited MARINA YEE delivery.
The entire 24AW lineup has arrived.
MARINA YEE is one of those brands
that many people eagerly await each season.
MARINA YEE
This time, we've picked out some items from MARINA YEE's collection
that we particularly want to highlight.

【MARINA YEE】
Established in 2019, MARINA YEE
is one of the Antwerp designers.
As the name suggests, the designer is Marina Yee herself.

And Marina Yee.
She was one of the six young, like-minded designers
who made their mark as the
"Antwerp Six."

Like the other five renowned designers,
she was a pioneer who created the context
that led to modern designers.
It is even rumored that she was the girlfriend of
"Martin Margiela," who was also closely associated with the Antwerp Six.
This suggests the strong influence she had on him,
a figure who would leave his mark for generations to come.

Martin Margiela created his iconic item, the
"TABI BOOTS," inspired by Japanese tabi socks.
Similarly, Marina Yee creates iconic designs
in her own brand, suggesting her influence.
That iconic design is the
"ORIGAMI," which is central to this topic.

As the name suggests, a part of the garment is pinched and folded like origami,
creating intricate creases and a three-dimensional effect on a flat surface,
which is one of Marina Yee's creative hallmarks.
This deconstructive design introduces an unusual dissonance
to universal and basic items.
Although many brands adopt this technique nowadays,
Marina Yee, as one of the designers who established this context,
creates pieces that radiate a unique and romantic presence.

The items featuring this design, the focus of this topic,
are the shirt and denim.

"DEAN BLUE"
This design incorporates origami folds and distressing
into a pair of denim pants that everyone can imagine.

It is characterized by turning up the hem and stitching it down
as if creating an origami motif, and then playfully cutting it with scissors
in a seemingly random manner, like a child's innocent game.
This creates an unusual accent that instantly catches the eye,
resulting in a universal yet artistic presence.

The coin pocket is also greatly exaggerated, bulging out of the pocket,
and an iconic ribbon detail is placed on the hip,
as if marking it as a Marina Yee creation.

"M.Y.SHIRT 1&5"
This design incorporates origami folds into a simple regular-collar shirt,
crafted from plain or striped broadcloth, or dressy wool fabric.

For M.Y.SHIRT 1, the cuffs are folded multiple times,
creating a solid, origami-like motif
that serves as an iconic accent.

To further emphasize the impact of the cuffs,
the armholes are also made wider,
giving it the characteristic form of a shirt jacket.

The M.Y.SHIRT 5, a new style this season,
is characterized by the placket being folded diagonally,
creating three-dimensional wrinkles on the plain surface
and an eye-catching accent.

By deliberately maintaining an otherwise neat, shirt-like appearance,
the unusualness of the front design is further accentuated.
Furthermore, a shared design element across both types
is the diagonal, panel-like slide of the yoke.

By incorporating Marina Yee's deconstructive design,
which carries the legacy of Antwerp, into basic items
that everyone owns and that form the core of any styling,
these pieces add depth and weight to your look.
Don't miss out on Marina Yee's items,
a living legacy that is the origin of modern designers.
