【KAGARI YUSUKE】
Japanese leather item products created by
bag designer Yusuke Akamatsu
"Carrying a wall"
Based on this concept, and born from the idea of
"wearing time,"
its strong concept and overwhelming sculptural beauty,
and unique style, hand-made in his own workshop,
have earned it a cult following both in Japan and abroad,
"A product that blurs the boundaries
between art and fashion"
It has established a unique position for itself.
Speaking of KAGARI YUSUKE's iconic works, it's
-WALL-
Flexible putty made from industrial paint is applied to unpainted cowhide,
recreating the texture of an actual wall.
Seams and stitches from sewing are minimized
and filled with putty as much as possible,
resulting in a more wall-like, sculptural finish.
It also possesses perfection in design and function,
being resistant to friction and degradation over time.
Furthermore, the more it is used,
the more it changes over time,
taking on the appearance of a decadent wall.
This is a unique product that expresses a worldview of
urban environments, architecture, memories, and
even the beauty of degradation
through an unprecedented technique of applying
a specially developed putty, an actual architectural material,
in layers over leather.

-WALL- comes in various types,
with the classic and signature KAGARI YUSUKE style of
"White Wall"
With a more modern and urban feel,
using concrete repair paint as a base,
and with slower aging than White Wall, there's
"Concrete Gray"
With a thin layer of concrete gray
putty scattered over a white wall, creating a subdued "dirty" look,
there's
"Stained White"
Based on road repair materials,
with a sharper and stronger texture compared to the standard white wall, there's
"Black Wall"
A series featuring weathering applied to a white wall.
Repeatedly applying and peeling off thinned weathering paint creates
"Urban Camouflage"
As a further variation,
in addition to applying and peeling,
there's a derivative that adds the process of shaving.
Based on a white wall,
the putty is thinly shaved with a carving knife,
and then an India ink process is applied, creating
"Crack Carving"
Based on a white wall,
with carving done on leather, there's
"Laser Crack"
