What is PRASTHANA EXTRA ISSUE?
Special products created as interim spot items,
separate from the inline collections
announced twice a year for SS and AW,
are released under the name PRASTHANA EXTRA ISSUE.
As the meaning of [EXTRA ISSUE] implies,
plans are made without regard to merchandising viewpoints,
going beyond the creative limits of the inline collection.
All products are handcrafted by artisans
with some of the best skills in Japan,
and without being overly focused on design,
the high quality of the clothing is pursued uncompromisingly.

Focusing on prasthana's creative philosophy,
and utilizing rare fabrics and highly specialized specifications,
the aim is to create value different from the inline collection.
The distribution is limited to prasthana's directly managed stores
and a select few retailers, and while sales methods will be determined
each time, they are generally based on order-taking or limited production.
"Special works that can only be obtained at limited times/places"
It is a special line positioned as such.
In other words, it is a line that releases
uncompromising special items that designer Takei
"wants to make now" and "wants to propose now"
without regard for profit or company convenience.

Now, for the main event:
"PEI-003 AVIATOR"
Let's get to the overview!
AVIATOR can be directly translated as "aviator,"
but I recognized this item
as a "flight cap."
And I also had the perception
that flight caps were extremely difficult to wear, lol.
To my embarrassment,
I was one of the buyers who had this exchange,
which was also in Takei-san's journal, lol.
I am one of the buyers
who had this exchange, lol.
Even for me, who often feels that
caps don't suit me well,
I can only wear prasthana caps.
I often hear similar stories from customers,
so I have absolute trust in prasthana's headwear.
And to top it off, it's made
from leather, which I love.
Oh, it's irresistible, lol.
Setting aside my impressions,
let's finally get to the overview.
The material used is vegetable-tanned horse leather
with plenty of oil, produced in Himeji,
a world-renowned leather producing region in Japan.
The leather is supple and soft, yet has
the unique power of horsehide,
adding persuasiveness and stoicism
to the flight cap, an item that
subtly embodies cuteness.
Furthermore, to reinforce that persuasiveness and stoicism,
overlock stitching and
white brass are used throughout.
By using "overlock stitching,"
which can only be handled by
specialized sewing machines and skilled artisans,
it elevates beyond mere stitching to achieve,
"the completeness of design and function."
This is a very prasthana-like,
very Takei-san-like choice.
Furthermore, "white brass" has a unique luster
that is different from both silver and white gold.
Combined with its characteristic of being
resistant to discoloration and oxidation,
it can be said to be the optimal choice
of tough textile for this military-inspired piece.
The processing was entrusted to an accessory designer
who has known Takei-san for a long time.
The unique unevenness brought about not the ostentation
often associated with decoration, but rather
The "trace of hands"
of artisans' persistent efforts.
It has become an important part that strongly conveys this,
determining the impression of this work.
"PEI-003 AVIATOR" is also produced
by artisans in whom the designer places immense trust.
To borrow Takei-san's words from his journal,
this uncompromising masterpiece,
crafted by the hands of artisans, is truly
A "beautiful creation"
embodying prasthana's concept of
"the trace of hands."
That's what it is.
How was it?
This work, too, offers a very characteristic item proposal,
with its own unique interpretation, and would not have been
possible without the artisans whom the designer loves
and continuously respects.

It has become a special item worthy of its name! 🔥
It goes without saying that it is a niche item true to its reputation.
However, it is a passionate piece that overturns that image,
being easy to wear, easy to match, and cool,
"the true essence of craftsmanship."
You can feel it in this masterpiece.
