Although it's a familiar brand at Amanojak.,
I'd like to give a brief overview
before diving into the main topic.

PRASTHANA
does not set clear themes or
concepts every season,
but rather adheres to its brand concept
[form,function&idea]
=
[form, function, idea]
as its main axis, incorporating the following four elements, regardless of season, as the fundamental concepts of the brand:
[Japanese clothing]
[TECH]
[ARTISANAL]
[BAUHAUS]
As you can see from these four elements,
a characteristic of the brand is the coexistence of elements
that seem incompatible at first glance.
The extensive and rich experience in not only clothing but also other fields,
the cultural background of the designer,
the deep knowledge of and respect for artisanal craftsmanship –
it is precisely because of this background that designer Takei creates
what he does, resulting in a hybrid of the aforementioned four elements,
"a persuasive and beautiful sublimation."
I believe this is what defines the PRASTHANA brand.
Now, I'd like to move on to the main topic of this event, the 26SS season.
But first, this season defines a keyword for creation, and that is
fault or composition
[Fault or Composition]

"Fault" means "stratum," "flaw," or "error,"
whereas
"composition" suggests "a completed structure."
These two seemingly opposing concepts are connected by "or,"
suggesting that values and evaluations can be reversed
depending on the perspective and distance.
Structural displacement, wavering lines,
and "errors" lurking within order.
These are not failures, but rather minute tremors
that renew the structure.
Lines and surfaces slightly deviating from the axis of rationality
create new beauty.

With a shift in perspective,
"error"
transforms into
"composition."
It is within this fluctuation
that the fundamental fascination of creation lies.
The 26SS season's keyword is
best embodied by
[fault or composition] jacket
[fault or composition] sarrouel trousers

A symbolic setup for this season, bearing the keyword.
The textile is an ultra-high-density weather cloth blended with linen and Japanese paper,
available in two colors: pre-dyed black and sumi-dyed black,
which uses dye made from Binchotan charcoal.

The jacket is formed by patterns that intentionally displace structural lines,
and the unique outline created by the pattern, designed to enhance affinity with movement
while understanding the body's range of motion,
proposes a new value system different from traditional jackets or blousons.

While adhering to the established elements of prasthana's jackets, such as the forward-leaning design and inner daiba pockets,
the unlined construction provides a light and comfortable fit.
In contrast,
the metal buttons on the front are individually hand-sculpted by the designer,
creating a rough, weathered appearance,
emitting a tension that is characteristic of this season, where precision and deviation coexist.
The sarrouel trousers reconstruct
the brand's long-pursued
"drop style"
with a more modern balance.

The crotch depth and length have been reduced,
updating the silhouette to be both structural
and seamlessly integrated into everyday life.
This piece embodies both the sense of discomfort caused by intentional "displacement"
and a high affinity with the body.

Sarrouel pants, which have been proposed by multiple brands at recent exhibitions,
as an offshoot of the Y2K boom and a return to Americana.
However, I feel a world of difference in the refinement of the silhouette between prasthana, which has continuously created and proposed sarrouels as a core brand item,
and brands that propose them seasonally.
I hope you will take this opportunity to try on this core brand item.
Personally, this is an item I'd love for you to try on at the order meeting.
deep crotch over all

Breaking away from existing workwear aesthetics,
this piece is a strong expression of the brand's philosophy,
combining the drop style that the brand has continuously proposed
with two contrasting materials.
The two materials used are
organic cotton back twill
and
"LIMONTA" high-shrinkage polyester.
Organic cotton back twill offers thickness, toughness, and the depth of nep.

Furthermore, it possesses a Japanese nuance, like sumi dyeing,
which aligns with the brand's constant concept of
[Japanese clothing]
regardless of the season.
Additionally,
"LIMONTA" high-shrinkage polyester has been adopted intermittently by prasthana.
It is a technical yet luxurious material with slight stretch, water repellency, and moisture permeability.

One can perceive the element of
[TECH]
among the four elements.
As for details,
under this season's keyword
"fault or composition," it presents new beauty through harmony with structure.
This approach, where beauty arises not from decoration but from structures and functions faithful to their purpose,
is also reflected in the detail work related to the fourth element:
[BAUHAUS]
Furthermore, the rivets connecting the body are
individually processed by the designer using hammer work.
Each piece has individual differences, and as an element that strongly reflects the traces of craftsmanship
not found in mass-produced items,
[ARTISANAL]
atmosphere to the item.

Please come and see this piece, which strongly reflects and condenses the four elements of prasthana, in store.
flux arm3 t-shirt
offset extension tank top
The cut-and-sew category, which is popular every season at prasthana
and boasts an overwhelmingly high repeat rate, has also been renewed.
ripple jersey
and
suvin giza jersey
While both materials are available,
I personally recommend the
ripple jersey.

The polyester/polyurethane blend
ripple jersey features shadows from its deep ribbed structure
and a very slight sheerness.
It combines a cool touch, excellent quick-drying properties,
and strong kickback performance,
making it prasthana's new basic textile,
proposed as a legitimate successor to the brand's classic "AQUA RIB" series.
The flux arm3 t-shirt is a dolman-sleeved, short-sleeved T-shirt.
In addition to the two-panel construction of the front and back body,
a third panel is provided under the armpit, creating a "three-panel pattern."
When worn, this generates flowing drapes that respond to body movements.
Furthermore, it features a delicately open neckline
and robust stitching with inner binding.
Although seemingly minimal,
it is a piece that embodies both tension and allure.
The offset extension tank top is a tank top
with an asymmetrical hemline and impressive square cutting.

Utilizing architectural-like square cutting,
it features prasthana's classic long length.
It possesses a unique character that shines particularly when worn as an inner layer,
in addition to being worn on its own.
The deep slits placed on both side hems
and the unique cutting
create a richly expressive styling.

"fault or composition"
is a series that incorporates this philosophy into
the simplest clothing category:
"cut-and-sew."
By stripping away unnecessary ornamentation and revealing the beauty of the structure itself,
it has become a symbol of the beauty proposed by prasthana.
While we still have more apparel to offer,
I've introduced my personal favorite items,
so the rest will be available at the store.
Next, the second product has been released from
the "p/p" project, a collaboration between PRASTHANA and "Portaille,"
an artisan leather shoe brand based in Kobe, which started last season.
"p/p"
If I were to put it very simply,
Balmoral Style
Lace-up Boots.

While based on a classical style,
by reinterpreting its internal structure,
this pair of shoes presents
a "reconstruction of aesthetic consciousness"
in footwear as a product.
The main material used is
"Chajin horse leather"
from a long-established tannery in Himeji,
a leather production region
that Japan proudly presents to the world.
"Chajin Horse Leather"
was adopted.

This leather, with its fine and soft texture
and dull luster,
allows you to enjoy the nuance of "brown"
that appears from within
as the black surface wears away,
gradually engraving a deep history
that reflects the story of its wearer.
This ultra-high-quality leather is fitted with a
Vibram sole,
features 8 eyelets,
and uses an Edo-uchi kumihimo (braided cord)
made from a silk/rayon blend, enhancing a
masculine and dignified atmosphere.
Furthermore, the hassle of putting on and taking off
lace-up shoes, often considered a drawback,
is resolved by incorporating a back zipper.

And it's a YKK EXCELLA zipper.
Additionally, the BLACK RAPID construction method
is adopted, combining the lightness of McKay
with the durability of Goodyear, and allowing
for full sole replacement.
The designer's earnest approach to manufacturing
is evident in the thorough and uncompromising
choices made down to the smallest detail.
And what everyone is probably curious about is the
metal heel,
which is the most noteworthy detail of this work.
The parts are created using an ancient casting method,
sand casting,
with the original mold created from scratch
and meticulous adjustments made.
What is sand casting in the first place?
It is a traditional casting technique
where molten metal is poured into
a mold made of sand, cooled, and solidified
to form parts.

Because the sand mold is destroyed after a single use,
it is extremely difficult to produce multiple identical items.
It is considered a casting method far removed from
industrial "precision" and "efficiency."
Given the reality of a dwindling number of successors
in the next generation, this technology may well
become a lost art within a few decades.

On the other hand, from mold making to finishing,
the entire process is entrusted to human hands,
relying on "human sensibility" rather than
mechanical rationality.
The surface after casting is not smooth,
retaining a unique roughness and traces of sand.

It strongly conveys "the traces of human hands,"
making it a unique and, I dare say, the most suitable
casting method for P/P.
The inspiration for the metal heel comes from
the lineage of expressions in fashion and artisan contexts
that treat "shoes as sculpture."
P/P injects its own aesthetic sensibility into it,
Reconstructing a part of the structure
to achieve completion.
While presenting a methodology that leads to a fresh
expression without a sense of déjà vu, it is a product
that embodies Mr. Takei's straightforward
and robust approach:
understanding the continuously inherited context
and creating it with Japanese craftsmanship.
On both sides, a change line inspired
by German artist Wassily Kandinsky's work
"Composition" is designed as an accent,
adding "idea = artistry" to the minimal
upper design.

"It exudes a strong presence as a piece
that truly embodies valuable creation,
setting it apart from the mass-produced
items overflowing the world."
The designer says with a smile,
this pair of shoes,
while adopting the very classic foundation of
chajin (tea-core) lace-up shoes,
transforms them into something fresh
and modern by adding the essence
of metal heels and side-panel designs,
creating a new sense of unseen style.
"Deconstruct tradition,
recreate through composition."
Such a concept breathes through this pair,
where classic and modern, art and craft,
tradition and innovation intersect.

Please come to the store and experience
this heartfelt product, which expresses beauty
through composition rather than decoration,
and was born out of the inevitability within irrationality
rather than rationality.
How was it?
Once again, there's no unnecessary fluff.
Each piece in the lineup reflects Mr. Takei's personality
and aesthetic, imbued with strong will
and the beauty of construction.
A slight fluctuation within precise construction.
That "discomfort" is the contemporary beauty
that prasthana envisions.
Please take this opportunity to experience
the world of prasthana 26SS,
where the philosophy of "fault or composition"
resides, directly at Amanojak. Kitasenju store.

Also,
Saturday, October 25th will be
a very valuable opportunity to meet the designer
and hear directly about the products.
Please do come visit the store.
We look forward to seeing you,
along with the designer,
this coming three-day weekend.
That's all for now! 👋
