【DESCRIPTION】
This is the fourth launch of "p|p", a collaborative label with "Portaille", an artisan shoemaker based in Kobe.
From cutting, sewing, lasting, to finishing, all processes are created by the hands of craftsmen/designers. The works embody "ARTISANAL" in its true sense, and by integrating the delicate sensibilities unique to Japanese people, they fully demonstrate the quality of a supreme product.
This fourth release features low-cut length shoes with brass snap-lock fittings.
The material used is steer leather produced by a tannery in Himeji, a global production center for the leather industry.
It is an original recipe material made from domestic steer (adult male cattle) drum-tanned, with adjusted dull gray color and oil content.
The unique expressions seen on the surface, such as blood vessels, are characteristic of steer (adult cattle), and are unparalleled, leaving raw traces that cannot be replaced by other materials.
The accessories include brass snap locks and rivet parts.
The high-brightness brass material is given a black smoke treatment to create a decayed look, enhancing its affinity with the steer leather. It also allows you to enjoy the aging process as the base brass color gradually emerges with use.
The shoe-making method adopted is BLACK RAPID.
The BLACK RAPID method combines the light comfort and good toe spring of the McKay construction with the durability of the Goodyear welt construction. It is a technique that satisfies both beauty and robustness simultaneously, and supports full sole replacement, fulfilling essential elements for shoes to be nurtured for a long time.
The design is a low-cut model characterized by the shape of the parts covering the front.
It is a simple yet rational structure that crosses the front from the inside and fastens with snap-lock parts, offering high fit performance and strongly expressing the presence of this product as a design element.
The tab placed on the back is reinforced with rivet parts, and each part is finished with hammer work to intentionally leave hammer marks.
In addition, the stacked heel has a slight forward angle, creating a sharp impression, while the outsole adopts the Vibram #1100 tank sole, reflecting p|p's unique manufacturing philosophy that moves between delicacy and ruggedness.
This work, which is the first release of a low-cut length and uses colors other than black, is proposed as a piece that embodies new value different from previous works.
