but I thought this really needed to be a blog post on its own!
So I quickly wrote this one.
This blog post is about a special bespoke item
from FRACTION
a brand that I, and I'm sure all of you, deeply admire,
so please do read on. 🙏
First, for those who aren't familiar,
a brief introduction to the brand.
【FRACTION】
FRACTION (Fraction) is an emerging designer brand,
launched by designer Ko Nakano
based on his own philosophy,
starting from the 2025SS season.
The brand name, which means "a small part, a fraction" in English,
embodies the designer's desire to find true value
in what is often overlooked in society—
"those on the fringes" and
"things considered insignificant."
Having gained experience at a global fashion brand,
FRACTION's core lies in its unwavering commitment to materials and patterns.
In particular, leather products and
tailored jackets are the essence of FRACTION,
where Nakano's extensive experience and
artisanal techniques merge.
Under Nakano's conviction,
they pursue precise and refined creations.
Even though it's only in its second season,
FRACTION is becoming a brand that can be called a
"pillar" within Amanojak.'s lineup.
It's not because it's selling well.
Nor is it because it's trending.
The items embody a philosophy, are beautiful,
and yet suitable for daily use.
"Everyday yet imbued with an extraordinary aura."
I recognize it as a special brand.
There was a model from FRACTION's debut season
that many customers asked about, saying,
"You don't have it in stock, do you?
Will it be restocked?"
Now, that highly anticipated masterpiece
is finally returning as an
Amanojak. exclusive,
in limited quantities.

The inspiration for these trousers comes from
the Austrian painter,
Egon Schiele, who is admired by designer Ko Nakano.
The human bodies he depicts are
distorted in their lines,
unstable in their contours,
and not in their "correct" form.
However, precisely because of this,
I believe they convey the most realistic and vibrant lines of human existence.
The EGON TROUSER is a pair that
directly incorporates that "imperfect contour"
into its very structure.
Countless darts along the outseam and inseam.
These are not there
"to make them look slimmer" or
"as a design feature."
They are a structure designed to "distort" the fabric.
Twisting, sagging,
creating forced shadows,
and wrinkles that feel unsettling in a good way.
The trousers themselves stand up as a
slightly distorted three-dimensional object.
That is the EGON TROUSER:
constructed yet with room for expression.
This distinctive piece, which was only released
in the brand's debut season,
has been updated to a bespoke
original wool gabardine that FRACTION commissioned from a fabric supplier
for the 25AW collection.
And it's really good.
It's a fabric so good, you could say
we specifically requested this bespoke item because of it.
Main buyer Koyama and
the rest of the Amanojak. staff
unanimously agreed that this
wool gabardine is 'excellent.'
In general dyeing and drying processes, the fabric is stretched taut,
resulting in a slight sheen on the surface and a supple, drapey movement,
which is characteristic of typical wool gabardine.
Stretching the fabric also prevents excessive shrinkage,
providing the advantage of efficient fabric production.
In contrast,
the fabric used for this special order item
is dyed and dried with the fabric slack,
which allows it to naturally shrink, creating a unique texture.
Furthermore, because natural shrinkage is allowed,
there is a risk of excessive shrinkage or, conversely,
insufficient shrinkage preventing the desired unique texture from appearing.
It can be said to be a very luxurious and challenging fabric.
By applying unique dyeing by artisans' hands
without relying on secondary processing,
a luxurious wool gabardine fabric
with a distinctive texture is completed.
The wool gabardine, dyed in this manner,
is soft, without stiffness,
yet has substance.
It's not overly dressy,
nor does it lean too casual.
The countless darts don't stand out negatively,
but subtly assert themselves and conform to the body,
creating the perfect texture for the
EGON TROUSER.
Also, since this textile was used in the 25AW collection,

It's even more fashionable and structured than the CAVE TROUSER set.
This combination allows you to enjoy
the essence of Fraction even more deeply.
