An updated aesthetic legend.
Good morning.
Hello.
Good evening.
This is Yokota from Amanojak.
This is the first blog post
I've written this new year!
Last year, I wrote
various blog posts.
It takes a tremendous amount of time to research each one,
and confirm details with the brand or designer themselves,
but it really makes me happy
when you let me know you've read them 🙇
Thank you again for this year!!!
Anyway, today's blog is about
finally being able to hold a POP-UP for that legendary brand!!!
I'm so excited about it
that I'll do my best with this blog post, lol.
So, let's get to it.

…………………………………………………………………
A brand that I can confidently say
no one familiar with fashion would not know.
ANN DEMEULEMEESTER
However, I'm sure many people have heard the name but...
So, I will briefly introduce this legendary brand.
Founded in 1985 by designer,
Ann Demeulemeester,
it is a designer brand
from Antwerp, Belgium.
ANN DEMEULEMEESTER

Along with Marina Yee and DRIES VAN NOTEN,
who are also handled by Amanojak.,
it is a legendary brand that is part of the
great six designers who graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp,
the Antwerp Six

.
Her romantic and decadent aesthetic, inspired by poetry, music, and literature,
had a profound impact on the history of fashion after the 90s.
Minimalist colors centered around black,
precise tailoring,
and flowing layering

create a lyrical and dramatic worldview
that captivates observers.

With a clear brand identity
and gender-neutral silhouettes,
collections imbued with a quiet rebelliousness
have garnered enthusiastic support from fashion addicts
across generations.

And that dramatic worldview is being passed down firmly
by Stefano Gallici, who was appointed in 2023 at the exceptionally young age of 26.
Stefano Gallici

and is being reinterpreted and reconstructed for the modern age.
Stefano Gallici has preserved the poetic
and dark romanticism that ANN DEMEULEMEESTER has built,
without ever destroying it.
By incorporating youth culture and modern values,
the brand has evolved to naturally fit
the sensibilities of people living today
with a more realistic feel.
The brand has added a moderate casualness and openness, unique to the present era,
to the "unapproachably beautiful" aesthetic
that ANN DEMEULEMEESTER once possessed.
While maintaining its black-based color scheme,
flowing silhouettes, and a somewhat ephemeral presence,
the use of materials, sense of volume, and styling freedom
clearly embody the atmosphere of "today."

Inheritance and Innovation
Many brands face this challenge, but
ANN DEMEULEMEESTER has passed its period of wavering
and has entered a new phase,
more than 40 years after its establishment,
under the direction of promising young designer Stefano Gallici.
And the theme for ANN DEMEULEMEESTER's
26SS season is
"The Solitary One"

What was striking on the runway was the natural fusion
of the brand's classic and romantic elements
with the youth culture elements introduced by Stefano Gallici.
It was.

This season's inspiration comes from:
Jane Austen's
"Pride and Prejudice"
and Danny Sugerman's, writer and publicist
for the band "The Doors,"
"Wonderland Avenue."
The aristocratic and refined worldview,
and the decadent and rebellious spirit of youth culture.

These two are naturally and highly integrated
into a single collection.

Classic and romantic.
Yet, with a certain coarseness,
and a definite hint of the street.
I believe the 26SS season is
a culmination
of Stefano Gallici's work for ANN DEMEULEMEESTER.

For this POP-UP, we have made special arrangements with the brand
to feature items from this exquisite season, including
items that establish style,
and iconic items that represent the brand.
Shirts that express the brand's signature detail
of flowing layering.

Cardigans with similar details

Vests essential for classic style

Jackets crafted with intricate tailoring, yet distinct from Rick Owens or Yohji Yamamoto,
and subtly casual, fitting various styles.

Pants with an exquisite, balanced silhouette
that I'm personally looking forward to.

Lace-up boots that have recently come back into style.

I've introduced mostly wearable and basic items this time,
but I won't reveal the full lineup, lol.
Please come and see for yourselves at the store.
What did you think???
I feel that ANN DEMEULEMEESTER is a brand
where simply trying on a piece of clothing
naturally reveals one's emotions and aesthetic sense.
It can make one feel that way.

However, this brand possesses an unfathomable charm
that cannot be fully conveyed through photographs:
the sway of the fabric, the depth of layering,
and an air of presence.
It possesses an unfathomable charm.
It is only by actually trying on the clothes
and standing in front of a mirror
that the full effect is achieved.
That is the kind of brand it is.

So please come and see it first.
Please try it on.
This POP-UP is a valuable opportunity to
experience the "now" of ANN DEMEULEMEESTER
in its most beautiful form.
For fans, of course,
and especially for those who
"were interested but haven't touched it yet,"
we highly recommend you to visit.
Please experience the poetic and unique world
of ANN DEMEULEMEESTER at this event.
All our staff are looking forward to
your visit.
That's all for now 👋
